Who we share it with
We only share what is needed with services that help us run the business:
- Formspree, which delivers quote requests from this website to our email inbox.
- Cloudflare, which hosts this website and provides spam protection (Turnstile) and, if enabled, cookie-free analytics.
- Our email provider (IONOS), which stores the emails we send and receive.
- WhatsApp (Meta), if you choose to message us on WhatsApp. Their own privacy policy applies to that service.
- Our accountant and HMRC, for invoices and tax records.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or to establish or defend a legal claim.
International transfers
Some of these providers, including Formspree and Cloudflare, may process data in the United States or elsewhere outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that do not go ahead: up to 12 months from our last contact, then deleted.
- Customers: job and financial records for 6 years after the end of the tax year they relate to, as required for tax purposes and in case of any claim about the work.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
- ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- ask us to delete your information, where we no longer need to keep it;
- ask us to limit how we use it, or object to us using it on the basis of legitimate interests;
- ask for information you gave us in a portable format.
To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. It is free, and we will reply within one month. We may need to confirm who you are first.
You do not have to give us your details, but without a way to contact you we cannot reply or quote for a job.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies for tracking or advertising, so there is no cookie banner. The spam check on the quote form is provided by Cloudflare Turnstile, which does not use cookies to track you.
Keeping it safe
The website is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). We keep records on password-protected accounts and devices, and only people who need your information to do the job can see it.
